This crock will keep butter fresh and spreadable without refrigeration. First pack slightly softened butter into the lid, then put water into the bottom section and replace the lid being alert for any water overflow. This will form an airtight seal keeping the butter fresh. Leave the crock on the counter or table and use the lid upside-down to serve. Keep out of direct sunlight.

This is my second purchase of the butter dish, I like it so much.  The first met a horrible death and I've wanted to replace it with a duplicate.  I'll be more careful this time.  It is a functional piece of art that really works.  If you've never tried a french butter keeper, this would be a good start.  It keeps the butter at a great consistency and looks good too.
